The XDJ-RX3 is a complete standalone system with no computer required to DJ. Simply insert a Rekordbox prepared USB stick and you are ready to go.

Use the large 10.1” touch screen to search and load your tracks and view the waveforms in super high resolution detail. Each deck has jog wheels with adjustable tension to suit the user’s style, as well as in-jog displays to show artwork and track data as well as deck settings. 8 performance pads on each side give you different functions: Hot Cue, Beat Loop (x2), Slip Loop, Beat Jump (x2) as well new Gate Cue and Release FX.

The mixer section features 6 sound colour FX and 14 beat FX, the same ones found on the flagship DJM900 NXS2 mixer. The XDJ-RX3 also features another feature only found in the highest level Pioneer DJ kit, the preview feature. This allows you to pre-listen to a track, even score along the waveform without having to load the track to a deck.

The mixer also has connectivity for additional phono and line inputs to mix in other media sources as well as an Aux input with a “portable” setting for mobile devices with a level boost.

Huge 10.1-Inch Touchscreen

The 10.1 touchscreen fronting the XDJ-RX3 is by far the largest Pioneer has ever fitted to a standalone DJ system. More than just a showstopper by size alone, it boasts a higher resolution than the RX2’s screen and an enhanced layout; Controlling effects, browsing music and generally interacting with the system are easier than ever before, thanks to its intuitive new interface.

The Playlist Bank feature in particular is likely to prove a hit, providing access to four saved playlists at the touch of a button. The XDJ-RX3 also lets you listen to any part of any track without actually loading it using the Touch Preview feature.

Pioneer has incorporated a new Pad status display on the touchscreen which displays performance pad modes. There is also a useful Countdown Timer, a Repeat Mode and more – all featured on the XDJ-RX3’s mammoth touchscreen.

LCD Colour On-Jog Display

Each of the jog wheels features an LCD screen, providing essential information including BPM, track, artwork and more. Wheel rotation responsiveness has been stepped up with the XDJ-RX3 for more precise control, with the option of adjusting the friction of each of the jog wheels using the new Feeling Adjust Control. Great for setting the ‘weight’ of the wheels exactly as you like it.

Beat FX and Sound Colour FX

FX performs thick and fast with the Feeling Adjust Control, which inherits the full 6 Sound Colour FX and 14 Beat FX from its predecessor – the DJM-900NXS2. All with the addition of two extra Sound Colour FX and six extra Beat FX. New entries within the systems 14 Beat FX are Filter, Helix, Ping Pong, Phaser, Vinyl Brake and Slip Roll, and the 6 Sound Colour FX now feature Crush and Space.

Release FX

The new Release FX feature serves up eight effect types that can be controlled using the performance pads to bring a burst of energy and dynamism into any performance. These effects include Backspin (Short/Long), Vinyl Brake (Short/Long), Build Up, Ducking, Mute and Echo Out.

Compatible with Rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro

Pioneer DJ confirmed at its unveiling that the XDJ-RX3 would be a Hardware Unlock Device, meaning no paid Rekordbox subscription is required. Rekordbox Performance Mode can be unlocked by connecting a laptop, or the RX3 can be used for playing Rekordbox analysed tracks from USB storage drives. Pioneer DJ also confirmed that Serato DJ Pro plug-and-play compatibility would follow in the early stages of 2022.
